Our Purpose

Founded with a commitment to advancing excellence in court-mandated services, the National Association of Court Approved Treatment Providers (NACATP) serves as a guiding force for professionals dedicated to helping individuals navigate the justice system. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, NACATP provides industry-leading accreditation and training to therapists, social workers, educators, and other professionals working in diversion. We believe that a high standard of knowledge and practice is essential for creating positive, lasting change within the communities we serve.

Our Mission

NACATP’s mission is to establish a national standard of excellence in court-approved treatment, helping providers meet rigorous standards that reflect compassion, integrity, and accountability. Our goal is to build a network of accredited organizations who are equipped to support individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system through impactful, evidence-based services.

Our Vision

Our vision is a justice system strengthened by highly skilled, certified providers who are recognized and trusted by courts, agencies, and communities nationwide. By setting the bar for accreditation and training, NACATP aims to raise the quality of support services available and ensure every provider has the tools needed to make a meaningful impact.

Meet Our Founder

NACATP was founded by Dr. Derek Collins, a respected leader with extensive experience in addiction counseling, family violence intervention, and anger management. Driven by a passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the justice system’s unique needs, Derek established NACATP to address a critical gap in accreditation and training for court-approved treatment providers. His vision is to empower professionals to deliver high-quality services that help individuals overcome challenges, fulfill court requirements, and rebuild their lives.

f you’re interested in having Dr. Collins provide training or speak at your event, please email your budget and event details to info@nacatp.org. We look forward to collaborating with you!
